Recently dethroned WWE Raw Tag Team Champion Dolph Ziggler once told actor Hugh Jackman to punch him for real, as hard as he could.

HUGH JACKMAN DID NOT WANT TO LAND A DIRECT PUNCH ON ZIGGLER

Hugh Jackman is well-known for, amongst other portrayals, his rendition of the Marvel Comics character James “Logan” Howlett, known by the alias Wolverine. The Australian actor holds the Guinness World Record for longest career as a live-action Marvel superhero.

When Jackman arrived for a cameo at a WWE show, he was apparently a sweetheart behind the scene, or so Ziggler suggests. The “The Prestige” actor remembered watching The Brooklyn Brawler at a show when he was a child. “The Show-off” was impressed by the fact that Jackman legitimately wanted to make the cameo impressive instead of just being there without any real love for the show.

“Backstage, he’s a sweetheart guy. He was so nice and he was a fan. He remembered Brooklyn Brawler coming to a show when he was a kid. He remembered a bunch of different things. He was like, ‘how can we make this awesome?’ Again, that is rare. You could be bringing up someone else and I’d be like, ‘that was okay.’ This guy wanted to make this amazing. He didn’t have to. There were no rules for him. He could do whatever he wanted,” Ziggler said.

When he came to know that he was going to punch Ziggler in the face, he asked whether he should swing by his face in a worked punch. The WWE Superstar responded by reminding Jackman of the multitude of camera and audience watching the show and asked him to punch him directly, informing him that otherwise, he would get fired from the company, and as a statement of jest, told him that if he got fired, he would come after him.

IN THE END, HE PUNCHED THE WWE SUPERSTAR QUITE HARD

Despite his initial hesitance, Jackman did punch Ziggler quite hard. “So, right before we went out I said one last time, ‘listen man if you’re going to halfway do it or miss, let’s switch this right now because I need you to punch me in the face with my hands down and my head’ He goes, ‘I promise you I won’t let you down,’ and he cracked me in the face pretty damn hard. It was great,” he recalled.
