Former WWE Champion CM Punk believes that returning to WWE will be ultimately useless for him, as he will become nothing more than just another guy in the roster.
CM PUNK DOES NOT ELIMINATE THE POSSIBILITY OF A PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING RETURN
In a conversation with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Punk mostly spoke about his acting ventures, but the topic of his return to professional wrestling doubtlessly formed a part of the discussion. He did not totally eliminate the idea of a return, but was clearly not excited about the idea of a return to WWE. He said that he had answered the question negatively in interviews before and was not fishing for a deal.
He just wanted to work with quality human beings, and in his opinion, professional wrestling had a lack of such people in the industry. If a fun, quality project is ever discussed with him, he said that he would surely listen to it seriously.
“I’ve said no before in interviews. I’m not fishing for a deal. I get offered to do a lot of stuff, and I say no to 90% of it just because my thing is I need to work with quality human beings. It just seems like maybe in pro wrestling there is a lack of quality human beings. I don’t know. I like doing fun, quality projects. If there is a fun, quality wrestling project that gets sent my way, I will listen to it,” Punk stated.
HE SAYS THAT THE WWE TELEVISION SHOWS ARE AWFUL
He added that he did not want the money from a WWE deal. He then criticized the company, their shows and their booking by saying that the show they put out on television is awful and if he returned to the company, he would soon turn into just another guy in the roster.
“I don’t need the money. And the way the wrestling business is now, it’s wacky. You’ve got WWE, who has multiple billion-dollar television deals, and the television’s awful. I go back there, I’m just another guy,” Punk said.
