Chris Jericho, the AEW star on his weekly show, Saturday Night Special podcast spoke about Miro(formerly known as Rusev) and believes that WWE will repent allowing the departure of the Bulgarian star.
“They are going to regret letting him go”, says Chris Jericho
Miro ended his ten-year-long journey with WWE after he was released from the company due to the budget cut, amid the Covid-19 pandemic. He made his debut in AEW on the last week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
Chris Jericho admitted that he has always admired Miro and said, “I’ve always been a fan of his. He’s another guy, who, for whatever reason, fell through the cracks there [in WWE] and they are going to regret letting him go.”
Chris Jericho discusses the signing and debut of Miro
Miro, on his debut, delivered a promo. AEW has taken a dig at WWE on multiple occasions and the promo cut by the newest member of AEW also proved to be one of those.
Miro highlighted on his ten-year career with WWE “under the same house, under the same glass ceiling” and chasing an imaginary brass ring. He then said, “Well, you can take that brass ring and shove it up your ass.”
Chris Jericho spilt beans on the promo and revealed that the lines were written by him.
He revealed, “When he indirectly mentioned WWE, talking about the glass ceiling and brass ring, that was actually my line.”
The former AEW Champion clarified that they don’t want to take a constant jibe at WWE.
He explained, “I’m glad Miro came in and gave his mission statement. That said, we’ll just leave it there now. This is not a place that wants to constantly bash another place.”
“Obviously, when you come from another company, you have to acknowledge the fact that you came from there, because there’s a history. But then you move on.”
Miro, the former WWE wrestler is an excellent acquisition for AEW and it has been on the cards since he left WWE. AEW wanted the star to be signed at the right time for the right storyline.
Chris Jericho said, “We had discussed Miro coming in a few months earlier. However, we were all wondering how to create a spot for him [on the roster].”
He continued, “We needed to find a storyline for him, to ensure he’s just not going to be hanging around. We needed to find a meaningful spot for him.”
The quality wrestler Miro is, he can do wonders, now that he has signed with AEW.
