Manchester United have reached an agreement to relieve Ole Gunnar Solskjaer of his duties as the manager. After a series of disappointing results, the Norweigian had pressure piled upon him and now the time has come to bid a goodbye to the club. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men suffered a thrashing 4-1 defeat against Watford in the Premier League fixture on Saturday and that led to him ultimately getting sacked. He had joined the club as head manager in 2018 and did make some considerable progress with the squad but he didn’t win any important silverware which remained a concern.

Reports stated that an internal meeting took place for as long as five hours and Manchester United reached a decision to dismiss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the boss. The club also issued official statement:
“Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision. While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.
Ole leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as Manager and our very best wishes for the future. His place in the club’s history will always be secure, not just for his story as a player, but as a great man and a Manager who gave us many great moments. He will forever be welcome back at Old Trafford as part of the Manchester United family.”
It has been announced that Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim manager to the end of the season.
Manchester United can confirm that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left his role as Manager.
