WWE IS IN DESPERATE NEED FOR FRESHNESS

The company recently held Backlash, which was scheduled for the May PPV slot, returning it to its original position of being the post-WrestleMania PPV—as a result, the 2021 edition was titled “WrestleMania Backlash”. There was no paying audience as in WrestleMania 37, and it was first of their pay per view events produced from the ThunderDome at the Yuengling Center.

While the pay per view event had a number of good to excellent matches, with the World Champion matches especially praised, the presentation of WWE Thunderdome looked pale in contrast to the cheering audience at WrestleMania 37. Thus, the promotion must be looking to change the sets up a little to present a considerably new atmosphere to the TV and Thunderdome audience.

The freshening is also much needed, especially because of the weird decisions taken by the company which has not been appreciated by the audience. The most recent of such moments included actors playing zombies standing in for lumberjacks in the match between The Miz and Damian Priest at Backlash. Following the match, where Priest was victorious, the zombies apparently ate the former WWE Champion. While it was a promotion for the Dave Bautista-starrer “Army Of The Dead”, it was not appreciated.
