WWE is on the verge of changing the location of Wrestlemania 37, as per the reports of Gary Cassidy.
Wrestlemania 37 is the upcoming 37th annual pay-per-view of the name and WWE Network event produced by WWE for their Raw and SmackDown brands. It is scheduled to take place on March 28, 2021, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
WrestleMania 37 will be the first of the mega annual events to be held in the city of Inglewood, the first since WrestleMania 21 to be held in Greater Los Angeles and the seventh held in the state of California (after 2, VII, XII, 2000, 21, and 31).
Prior to the 2020 announcement, the Los Angeles Times had reported in April 2019 that the then under-construction SoFi Stadium was a “front-runner” to host a future WrestleMania.
“The city of Inglewood is thrilled to say that WrestleMania will add to the growing number of national and internationally followed events that will be hosted in our city over the next eight years,” said Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts Jr. during the announcement, “WrestleMania brings excitement and is followed by almost every age demographic.”
“With the scheduling of this marquee event, we can say without contradiction, the only thing that has changed in Inglewood is…everything,” said LA Mayor Eric Garcetti during the announcement.
WWE Is Looking To Shift Wrestlemania To Tampa
However, according to the reports, it seems that WWE may change the location to the city where Mania 36 was supposed to take place: Tampa, Florida.
According to words, WWE has already locked down multiple buildings in the Tampa Area for events which will take place in the Mania weekend.
The matches for the mega event are yet to be confirmed but it seems that WWE is building up for Universal Champion Roman Reigns to face The Rock, but The Rock’s numerous complications and movie contacts may stop that from happening.
For now, however, Reigns will continue battling his family in the form of Jey Uso, who will get another chance to win the Universal Championship at Hell In A Cell. Whether the match will take place inside the cell has not been confirmed yet.
