Before he can score points in the rematch against Israel Adesanya (20-1) at UFC 263 this Sunday, Italian mixed martial artist Marvin Vettori (17–4–1) has scored a massive sponsorship deal with Dolce & Gabbana, the luxury fashion elites.

Vettori and Adesanya have already squared off against each other, a fight that dates back to 14th April 2018 at UFC on Fox: Poirier vs. Gaethje where Adesanya picked up a split decision victory.

However, the rematch against “The Last Stylebender” this weekend has turned out to be the biggest fight of Vettori’s career as a mixed martial artist, as its his first shot at Adesanya’s UFC Middleweight title.

And on this occasion, Dolce & Gabbana have come forward to back the fighter from their nation with the hopes of being the first Italian to become a UFC champion.

Vettori gets D&C sponsorship, but may not feature their logo on Sunday

The news about the sponsorship deals was revealed by Vettori’s manager Ali Abdelaziz, who confirmed it to Brett Okamoto of ESPN.

All things considered, details about the sponsorship are still scarce. Although the shorts Vettori will don at the Gila River Arena are very unlikely to carry the D&G logo, “The Italian Dream” may promote the brand on social media.

Nonetheless, its a big step up for Vettori, earning a sponsorship along side his first ever thtle shot at the UFC. The fight takes place in the same arena where the two clashed three years ago, and the bitter rivalry that the two share still remains the same.

Speaking to Submission Radio, UFC president Dana White emphasized that Adesanya vs Vettori will turn out to be a grand affair.

“It’s interesting that these guys, do hate each other as bad as they do”, said White, “but again, I think it’s because they’re so competitive, they fought once, the first fight was so close.

Each guy believes he won the fight, you know, one of those type of things. I think it makes for a great fight,” the UFC prez added.

While Vettori may disagree with the split decision defeat against Adesanya, the 27-year-old has picked up the and has remained undefeated since then. He was last seen in action against Kevin Holland as the headline event of UFC Vegas 23 on 10th April, marking a unanimous decision win.
