WWE icon and minority owner Triple H has revealed the fact that he has spoken to former WWE employee CM Punk in the last couple of years.

CM PUNK AND WWE HAS A STORIED PAST

Punk, who adopted his real-life following of the straight edge movement as a major attribute of his professional wrestling character, walked out on WWE in 2014. The follow-up was even worse. In a detailed interview, Punk said that he was suspended for two months after walking out on the company in January and that after the suspension ended, nobody from WWE contacted him. Punk also told that when he reached out to them for unpaid royalties, he was given a run-around by company executives until he was handed his termination papers and was fired by WWE on his wedding day in June 2014.

TRIPLE H THINKS PUNK IS NOT INTERESTED IN THE BUSINESS ANYMORE

Punk later signed a contract with Fox to appear in the WWE Backstage talk and analysis show. Triple H may have spoken to him during the time he was a part of the now cancelled show, although Punk was not contracted by WWE.

“Last time I talked to [CM Punk]? A year and a half… a year and three quarters ago? A funny thing that people constantly will say, when his return is or… but in some way, I don’t know whether he does or not, but that has to be what he wants. When people talk about, they go, ‘Make the call!’ What says if we make the call he wants to answer? What says if we make the call he doesn’t go, like, ‘Yeah, I’m not interested in doing that anymore.’ Maybe he’s just done with it,” Triple H commented.

He also mentioned that questions of his return can only be answered by him. If he wants to work, there would not be a lack of interest, but he would have to have the desire to work again for that to become a reality. Triple H also said that there was no one in the business he would not take a phone call from and have a conversation with in case it leads to a working opportunity.
