Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg has thrown out a challenge to All Elite Wrestling superstar Thunder Rosa to a mixed martial arts fight.
AEW recently saw its much anticipated MMA fight between Jake Hager of The Inner Circle takes on The Pinnacle’s Wardlow in an MMA rules cage fight at AEW Dynamite, where Hager picked up a win, extending his mixed martial arts record to three wins and no losses.
On the heels of the Hager vs Wardlow fight, which received both positive and negative responses, mixed martial arts legend Cris Cyborg took to Twitter to ask the promotion about the chances of a women’s MMA fight taking place.
Furthermore, she mentioned pro wrestler cum MMA fighter Thunder Rosa in the tweet, indicating that she is eager to face the Mexican-American in the cage.
“Is @AEW going to be doing Women style MMA bouts too?! @thunderrosa22 #AEWDynamite #aew” tweeted Cyborg.
The tweet soon came under the radar of Rosa, who replied with approving Cyborg’s challenge, “It would be cool!”
