Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson shared an update on the production of one of his numerous upcoming movies, in this case “Black Adam”.
THE ROCK NOTED HIS STRUGGLES BEHIND PLAYING THE DC COMICS CHARACTER
On Instagram, The Rock revealed that the movie, based on DC Comics characters, is on the final week of its production.
“This coming week is a big one – our final week of production for the filming of BLACK ADAM. All the training, the diet, with Covid it’s been 2 years of character, story and production prep and it all culminates to next week. Dialing all the conditioning in as we save the hardest scenes for last. Appreciate you guys so much for all the BLACK ADAM support – I think we’re making a movie and creating a universe that’s definitive, unique, bad ass and cool. Fingers crossed we bring it on home strong next week. Stay disciplined, focused and trust in the process,” The Rock captioned on the social media platform.
“Black Adam”, based on the DC Comics character of the same name, is intended to be a spin-off from Shazam! (2019) and the eleventh film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, the film will staf Dwayne Johnson as the eponymous Teth-Adam / Black Adam. Noah Centineo, Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Quintessa Swindell, and former Agent 007 Pierce Brosnan will play other important roles in the film.
As originally depicted, Black Adam was a corrupted, ancient Egyptian predecessor of Captain Marvel, who fought his way to modern times to challenge the hero and his Marvel Family associates. Since the turn of the 21st century, however, Black Adam has been re-defined by DC Comics writers as a corrupted antihero attempting to clear his name and reputation.
THE ROCK IS ASSOCIATED WITH ANOTHER DC PROJECT, THIS ONE INVOLVING SUPER-PETS
The former WWE Champion is also associated with another DC project. He is supposed to voice Superman’s pet dog Krypto in the upcoming animated film DC League of Super-Pets.
