The Rock shares the reason for the gift
The Rock, the wrestler-turned actor took to his official Instagram handle and shared a heartfelt post. He discussed sharing a great bond with Harvey Wippleman a.k.a Downtown Bruno who has been with WWE for a very long time.
He also shared a video clip in which he surprised Bruno with a new car on the set of NBC’s “Young Rock” series.
He gifted a new Ford F-150 pickup truck. Wippleman, who turned emotional also thanked Rock for the gift and said he’d never forget the gesture. The Brahma Bull said that he will have the truck shipped to Bruno’s trailer in Walls, Mississippi.
In the post he went onto discuss how he did not have a place to live and it was Bruno who took care of him and they eventually became lifelong friends.
He wrote: “Bruno could’ve (and should’ve) said hell no, I’m not takin’ in some kid who I don’t know. But he didn’t. He took this punk kid in and we became lifelong friends.”
The Great One also reminisced the story of how he was able to buy his first car with the help of Bruno, the former WWE Women’s Champion.
The former WWE Champion wrote, “And hell, when I was 15-yrs old, Bruno even gave me his last $40 bucks so I could hustle a crackhead out of his car one night at a honky-tonk in Nashville.“
Dwanta Claus which The Rock likes to call himself, wished Bruno a Merry Christmas and returned the favour by gifting a car.
“Merry Christmas, Bruno and since you helped me “buy” my first car – I figured I could return the favor and buy you one that 100% does NOT have a crackhead in the back seat.”
