Both the goalkeepers played an important role in shaping the course of the match.  L.Malagon was simply unbeatable and S.Caceres and I.Lichnovsky were a rock in the defence.

Tigres keeper Guzman cracked under pressure and made a reckless foul on Quinones which made the referee show him a second yellow card. Hope vanished completely as Tigres were down to 9 men. After that, it was just child play for Club America they went on to score two more goals as Sanchez and Rodriguez  sealed the deal for the home side.

It Is just a start for Jardine

Club America went on a month-long search for a manager, contacting  Diego Alonso, Javier Aguirre, Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet, and recent U.S. men’s national team rehire Gregg Berhalter before landing on Atletico San Luis boss Jardine.

Jardine’s job has not finished but only started. Satisfying fans of a soccer club as big as Club America is a hard job, as they will expect to win everything every year. Jardine has enough experience of dealing with this kind of pressure. He has previously managed Gremio, Sao Paulo, and Brazil U – 23.

Fans have extremely short memories as he is a hero now but he knows a couple of losses at the start of the next season and he turns into a villain. Football is a fast game and it turns heroes into villains faster than a Hollywood thriller.
