Roman Reigns, the current WWE Universal Champion during a recent interview, discussed his work experience as a heel persona with the new manager, Paul Heyman.
Roman Reigns opens up on working with Paul Heyman
Following, Roman Reigns’ return to WWE, he immediately grabbed the WWE Universal Championship. In an episode of Friday Night Smackdown, it was revealed that Paul Heyman was his manager.
The former WWE United States Champion revealed the real-life side of Paul Heyman. He said it is an “awesome” experience to know the off-screen Paul Heyman.
He said, “I can just honestly say from backstage and a very real place it’s awesome. Like you said with his history in the business, the pedigree he has built for himself, he’s a self-made entertainer.”
Paul Heyman is one of the best speakers in WWE. His in-ring promos are incredible and he possesses extraordinary mic skills. But, ‘The Big Dog’ said he is a great talker in real life too.
Roman Reigns, the former WWE Champion said, “If you meet him and you get to talk to him in real life, he’s a very infectious type of personality to where he has perfect timing, he knows what to say when to say it.”
‘The Big Dog’ has taken his career to the next level and pairing up with Paul Heyman is a great way to complete his heel turn as well. The 55-year-old is a great mentor and a coach to the WWE Universal Champion.
He said, “He’s a good coach in a way and a good mentor and someone who just has the perfect stuff to say.”
Roman Reigns: He is one of the best storytellers
During the interview, when ‘The Big Dog’ was questioned about his opinion on the best storyteller in WWE, he was clear about his answer as he responded: Paul Heyman.
He claimed Paul Heyman to be “one of the best storytellers, not only just business-wise.”
He continued that 55-year-old is very “charismatic on the mic.” When he speaks in person, “there’s a different type of charisma that comes out.” According to Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman “paints a picture it’s like no other.”
Roman Reigns successfully defended the WWE Universal Championship against his cousin, Jey Uso at WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view.
