Nikola Jokic jokingly compares himself to LeBron James

Nikola Jokic has enjoyed a fruitful start to the season and is revelling in the success of Nuggets, who currently lie 4th in the Western Conference table. The Serbian was asked to compare himself to Lakers’ LeBron James where he brought out a long drawn joking response.

Jokic claimed that he is pretty much similar to the four-time champion when it comes to athleticism. Moreover, he also questioned whether James could jump as high as him. After getting through the answer with a straight face at the beginning, it was not long before Jokic broke down laughing, admitting that he was obviously joking.

“Oh yeah, the speed is there. We are the same athletic-wise … I don’t know if he can jump as high as me, actually. But we are kinda similar in quickness. You know, he’s a little bit older, so I don’t know, can he keep up with me?” Jokic said. Check out the incredible bit below.

The Nuggets star did admit that there are a few similarities between him and LeBron.

“There is some kind of similarities because how we affect our teammates. I think that is similar. And just that.”

Jokic will face LeBron during tomorrow’s Nuggets vs Lakers encounter

It won’t be long before the two stalwarts face-off as Denver Nuggets host the defending champions. Last year’s conference semi-finalists are only one spot behind the Lakers who currently boast a 16-6 record.

Jokic has had a huge hand in Nuggets’ position in the table. The player is averaging 26.8 points and 11.8 rebounds per game.

Moreover, the team is high on confidence after a convincing win against the Western Conference table-toppers Utah Jazz.
