NFL Foundation donates $250,000 to Feeding Tampa Bay to tackle hunger during the Super Bowl week
The NFL Foundation has announced on Tuesday that they will be pledging $250,000 to ‘Feeding Tampa Bay‘, a community organization that has been assisting the local restaurants that have suffered due to the pandemic’s impact.
Via Feeding Tampa Bay’s “Huddle to Tackle Hunger” program, the NFL Foundation’s generous donation will be utilized to provide financial support to the local restaurants in Tampa Bay, which is set to host the Super Bowl.
The Huddle to Tackle Hunger program will initiate during the week of the Super Bowl LV, scheduled on 7th February. Feeding Tampa Bay also aims to join hands in working with the restaurants to generate revenue, provide employment to people as well as feed the needy and underprivileged.
In addition to the restaurant programme, Feeding Tampa Bay has reached out to the local people to invite them for volunteering for the program and has also decided to launch a contest for the participating volunteers, which will earn them Super Bowl LV tickets.
“Each year we look for meaningful ways to give back to our Super Bowl host city,” Anna Isaacson, SVP of Social Responsibility, NFL, was quoted in an official release, “The past year has been unlike any other and we want to assist those who have been greatly impacted by the ongoing pandemic.”
“We are hopeful that we will be able to help the restaurant industry and those facing food insecurity in the Tampa Bay area through the ‘Huddle to Tackle Hunger’ and that our efforts will leave a lasting impact on the community long after Super Bowl Sunday,” added Isaacson.
