Even though Sweats last appeared for the Washington Commanders in week 8, his tally of 6.5 sacks for commanders this season is still an unbeaten record within the squad.
‘Tez’ was traded from the Washington Commanders to the Chicago Bears in October. Sweat then went on to finish with 6.0 sacks for the Bears. According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the pass-rusher is the only player in the history of the NFL to reach this milestone of leading two teams in sacks during the same season. Sweat reached another milestone this season as his tally of 12.5 sacks this season is his personal best.

Bears coach reveals how important Sweat is for the team
Chicago Bears have greatly benefitted from the arrival of ‘Tez’, He has solidified the Bear’s defense and helped others to get free and create trouble in the backfield. The pressure he implies on quarterbacks results in quick but inaccurate throws, thus increasing the number of interceptions for the Bears.
Montez Sweat helped The Chicago Bears and even the players around him, coach Matt Eberflus agrees
“I would say the Chicago Bears as a whole have benefitted from having ‘Tez on our football team. He creates a pressure player from the front, and when you have that, you’re able to play coverage.”
‘Tez’ now has his eyes fixed on the 2024 Pro Bowl and will be looking forward to continuing his red-hot form.
