The possibility of making the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder fights in Saudi Arabia is gaining strength, and although it would not be a heavyweight tournament, chances are that it can eventually materialize.

This was stated by the Saudi promoter Amer Abdallah, who revealed during an interview with Boxing King Media that the estimated date is in December and that there are many possibilities of achieving it.

“I will say that it is not a tournament,” Abdallah said. “It is those fights” that they want to present in December. He further assured that they have a good relationship with the four parties involved and that there have already been talks, so there would be no problem in making it happen.

“These are potential fights that could be made,” he went on. “We’re talking to Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua, of course we’re talking to Deontay. Tyson, Usyk, we have a relationship with each one of them.”

The only thing they would wait for to speed up the negotiation and make it happen is Prince Khadid’s order and when he decides it will be done.

“When Prince Khadid decides that he wants to do them and has determined when, I will have a phone call and he will tell me that he made the decision,” Abdallah added. “I will communicate with all four parties, with whom we have a good relationship, and we will make the fights happen.”

Abdallah said that now there is nothing concrete and that they are willing for Anthony Joshua, for example, to make a fight before if he decides so.

“Either Joshua wants to take a tune-up fight and his team thinks it’s good for him,” he added. “Or if he wants to go back to Texas to work a little more with his new trainer.”

But in case Joshua has that previous fight, they know that it would be an obligation for the Briton to win, because if he loses he would not be interested in the fight with Wilder in December.

“This is the business side of the sport, if he takes a tune-up fight, he has to win it,” Abdallah concluded. “We wouldn’t be interested if he loses, he has to win.”
