American sports television personality and boxing commentator Max Kellerman who co-hosts ESPN’s ‘First Take’ along with Stephen A. Smith and Molly Qerim, might be parting ways with the company.
Latest reports from Front Office Sports as well as the New York Post claim that Max Kellerman’s five-year stint with First Take is coming to an end, but an immediate replacement for the show is yet to be named.
Possibly a rotation of cast of guests is set to appear on First Take to debate Smith only, with Front Office Sports adding that, “it could be Stephen A. vs the World.”
An official statement is yet to come from either Kellerman or ESPN, as Front Office Sports said that departure is yet to reach finalization.
However, Kellerman is expected to remain with ESPN as he hosts the Max Kellerman Show on ESPN Radio, as well as a boxing show which airs on ESPN2.
Front Office Sports also added that Kellerman is to be teamed up with Keyshawn Johnson, Jay Williams, and Zubin Mehenti on ESPN’s radio show Keyshawn, JWill & Zubin.
The 48-year-old, who hails from Bronx, New York, joined First Take in 2016 as a successor to Skip Bayless and in 2019, inked a reported $60 million 5-year deal with the sports broadcast giants.
