I’m Still in Pain: Mark Henry opens up on his health issues

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry, who is currently signed with AEW is a true veteran in the pro-wrestling industry. He has never failed to entertain the fans in his illustrious career at the expense of his body. He has endured a lot throughout his career and he is now feeling the effects of it. He recently disclosed that he might need to undergo potential shoulder surgery and revealed being ‘still in pain.’

The former World Champion is currently guiding the young pro-wrestlers in AEW as a coach. ‘The World Strongest Man’ had revealed that he had recently injured himself. The WWE Hall of Famer spoke to Michele McCool on the latest episode of Busted Open Radio and opened up about the injury.

It was during the episode that Mark Henry disclosed that he is still in pain. He stated that he went back into the ring though he received warnings and he might be needing shoulder surgery soon:

“I recently got in the ring and started working with the big guys. Right now, I am still in pain and I am just letting you know. As your girl Janet said to me, ‘don’t get in there, in the ring, and lose your mind. I only know one way, so I did get in there and lose my mind, and I’m beat up. I think I am going to have to have surgery on my shoulder,” said Henry.

The last time Mark Henry competed in a ring was at WWE Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018 that took place in Saudi Arabia. The fans saw his last singles match which took place 5 years back in 2017. He had squared off against Braun Strowman. The match went on for five minutes as the Monster Among Men picked up the win on Monday Night RAW.

Henry after signing with AEW had announced that might have some left in his tank to dish out to the fans. However, he is yet to make in-ring debut in Tony Khan’s promotion. With the injury he suffered, he is unlikely to make his comeback to the squared circle. Even if he does, it will not be anytime soon.
