Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw, has sent his transfer message to Ed Woodward, the Chief Executive of the club following a disheartening home 3-1 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.
Luke Shaw urges for a stronger Manchester United team
Luke Shaw, the 25-year-old defender has opened up on the transfer plans and explained what could bolster the Manchester United squad.
He explained, “As I said, we have a very good group, but personally I think we need more players to strengthen the squad.”
“It can give us a boost. When you look around at how other teams are strengthening their teams, then we must also do it to keep up with the others,” said the defender.
Manchester United has only able to capture the signing of former Ajax star, Donny van de Beek in the summer transfer window.
Jadon Sancho has been the top priority for the Red Devils’ but they have been unsuccessful in their attempt to sign the English winger.
Manchester United are focussing on improving the attacking department but they are also in need of a centre back and a left-back.

Manchester United suffered a loss at home in the season opener against Crystal Palace. A goal from Andros Townsend gave Eagles the lead.
The second half brace from Wilfried Zaha sealed the victory for Crystal Palace. Though the newcomer at Old Trafford, Donny van de Beek pulled up a goal for United, it proved to be a consolation.
The 25-year-old defender believes that the players have the quality in the squad but they lacked the confidence and fitness in the clash against Crystal Palace.
The things on the pitch did not go according to the plan for Ole’s men and The Eagles were a better team.
Luke Shaw said, “We have only been back a week all together. Look at teams who have been together a while, training, playing games.”
He added, “I think Palace have played quite a few more games than us and it showed tonight. We lacked fitness and confidence.”
Manchester United were sluggish in their opening match of 2020/21 campaign. But, it is just the start of the new season and they need to buck up for the upcoming fixtures.
The English International said, “We need to be very disappointed because we should be, but forget about it tomorrow and move on tomorrow.”
They are going to be the visitor at Kenilworth Road on Tuesday for their EFL Cup tie against Luton Town.
