At 38, LeBron James, the NBA’s oldest active player, remains a dominant force in his 21st season. Despite his age, he pursues more records and accolades. Notably, his NBA career, which started on 29th October 2003, is older than some NBA stars.

1. Victor Wembanyama
Born on 4th January 2004, the 7-foot-4 center is just 20 years old and having a blast of a season at San Antonio Spurs. Despite the Spurs doing poorly in the NBA, Victor has been consistent and easily their best player this season. The first overall pick of the 2023 NBA Draft has averaged 19.9 points per game, 10.1 rebounds per game and 2.9 assists per game. His well-rounded abilities make him one of the best young players this season.
2. Scoot Henderson
The Portland Trail Blazers point guard was born on 3rd February 2004 and is still 19. The number 3 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft is regarded as one of the best young prospects. He was the youngest player in NBA G League history. Having recorded 12.5 points per game, 3.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game, Scoot recently played against the LA Lakers and LeBron James.

3. Jalen Duren
Jalen Duren is the first player in NBA, who was born after LeBron James started playing. Just 20 days shy of LeBron’s career, the Detroit Pistons rookie shared the stage with the veteran last year and shared his experience (via ESPN) as he said “He been in the league longer than I’ve been alive. So to be on the floor with him is legendary in some way. It’ll be a cool experience.” The talented rookie has 14 points per game, 11.4 rebounds per game and 2.6 assists per game. He is well-rounded in his abilities and a key part of the Pistons this year.
4. Anthony Black
The 6-foot-7 point guard was the sixth overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. Born on 20th January 2004, the rookie is one of the highly touted prospects of the NBA. He has featured for the Orlando Magic sporadically off the bench but has been impressive in the limited time. He averages 5.1 points per game, 2.4 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game.
5. Dereck Lively II
The 19 year old center, standing at 7-foot-1 has been phenomenal for the Dallas Mavericks since his debut. He was the 12th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft by Oklahoma City Thunder. He was traded to the Mavericks in July and he put up 16 points and 10 rebounds on his debut against the San Antonio Spurs. Currently, he averages 8.9 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game and 1.3 assists per game. He is considered a top prospect in the NBA right now.
LeBron James has achieved it all – with NBA championships, Olympic gold medals, and numerous individual honors. His longevity secures his position as one of the greatest in the history of NBA. Even at 38, LeBron is still consistently putting up numbers that challenge the very best of this generation and the next.
