After facing penalties due to the incident at Texas Motor Speedway, Kyle Larson took to social media to address the situation. Following the confirmation of the suspension of Calvin Teague, the tire changer, and Brandon Johnson, responsible for the jack, for the next two NASCAR Cup Series races, Kyle Larson posted a series of photos featuring tire changers carrying tires. Further suspension of car chief after roof rail penalty made the situation even worse.

Before Saturday morning’s qualifying session at Talladega Superspeedway, officials discovered unapproved adjustments to the roof rail section of Larson’s No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. As the car was pushed to the qualifying grid, these modifications were noticed, leading to immediate consequences.

In addition to the pass-through penalty, competition officials ejected the No. 5 car chief, Jesse Saunders, from the event. The team declined to comment on the situation, but the penalty had significant implications for Larson and his crew.

NASCAR ruled that Larson was ineligible to take a lap in qualifying due to the roof rail violation. As a result, he was required to serve a pass-through penalty after the start of Sunday’s GEICO 500 race. The pass-through penalty meant that Larson had to drive through pit road without stopping, impacting his track position and overall race strategy.
