Kevin Owens has revealed the words he received from Vince McMahon and Triple H during his only WWE Universal Championship reign.

KEVIN OWENS WON THE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2016

Owens is currently the resident stunner machine of WWE. Recently, at WrestleMania 37, he won his match by delivering a stunner to his opponent Sami Zayn and then hit another on Youtuber Logan Paul post match. However, while the previous WWE Superstar who delivered stunners every now and then, Stone Cold Steve Austin, is a multiple times World Champion, Owens is not.

He won a World Championship in WWE only once, in 2016, when he won the WWE Universal Championship following Finn Bálor’s injury. At WWE Fastlane, he dropped the Championship to Goldberg, owing to distraction by Chris Jericho, whom he had recently betrayed at WWE Raw.

HE WAS TOLD BY MCMAHON AND TRIPLE H TO ENJOY THE CHAMPIONSHIP REIGN

When he was the Champion, Owens did not enjoy being a World Championship the way he should had. Several people close to him, his family, friends and WWE officials including Triple H and Vince McMahon noted to him that he was not truly enjoying life as a World Champion and should relish it a bit more.

“My wife was instrumental in making me realize that. My parents as well, even guys like Shawn Michaels, Triple H and even Vince McMahon himself, they’ve all told me that it seemed like I forgot to enjoy this part of things and if you’re not going to enjoy being the champion, then what are you going to enjoy in this industry,” he stated.

That is why he would love to have another reign of a World Championship in WWE. His mindset has changed and this time around he would be able to enjoy being the holder of the biggest prize in the Company much more. Preferably, he wants a run with the WWE Universal Championship. During his first run, he was too focused, but this time around, if he ever becomes a Champion again, he would like to set things straight for himself.

“What I mean the most when I talk about I’d love to have another Universal title run to make things right is for myself. My mindset has changed a lot since I was champion and back then I didn’t take the time to enjoy any of it. I was just too focused on trying to make it good, make it better, make it as good as it can be and I really, really didn’t enjoy it the way I should have,” he said.
