Richard Childress punched Kyle Busch
During the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway, Richard Childress and driver Kyle Busch had a heated exchange. Busch had bumped another driver, Joey Coulter, during the cool-down lap, which didn’t sit well with Childress.
Childress confronted Busch in the garage area and delivered a punch right to Busch’s face. The 65-year-old team owner’s actions surprised many, but it was a clear display of his passion for racing and his loyalty to his team.
Busch, taken aback, went to the ground defensively to avoid further blows. Childress was later fined $150,000 by NASCAR and placed on probation for the remainder of the season.
