Irish boxing icon Katie Taylor (22-0, 6 KOs) will move up to Light Welterweight and fight for the IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO super lightweight titles against Chantelle Cameron (17-0, 8 knockouts), the undisputed champion of the division on 20th of May.
The fight will take place at the 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland, home of “KT”, who is the reigning undisputed titleholder at lightweight. The evening is organized by Matchroom Boxing and will be televised on DAZN.
Taylor had planned to face Amanda Serrano in a rematch fight on May 20, but an injury to the Puerto Rican caused the expected rematch to be postponed.
The first fight between the two, which took place on 30th April last year made history and became the most watched women’s boxing fight in history.
Currently, the undefeated Irishwoman is the unified lightweight champion and is just one win away from becoming a two division undisputed champion.
Cameron, the undefeated Briton is coming off a win over one of the best boxers of the moment, Jessica McCaskill, back in November, will be making her first undisputed title defense.
