John Cena is now a married man, again. According to reports, Cena and girlfriend Shay Shariatzadeh secretly tied the knot on Monday.
His wife is an Iran-born Canadian citizen who works as a tech executive. He met the Vancouver resident while visiting the city during the filming of Playing With Fire.
During the premier of the said film, He went public with the relationship, saying: “What’s truly special about this one is that, no matter what projects I’m involved in the future, this one will always have a special meaning because I got to film a special project and meet someone special.”
On the red carpet of the premiere of Dolittle, a ring signified the couple’s engagement, which led to this marriage.
He has been married once before and this is Shariatzadeh’s first marriage.
“He’s a 16-time World Champion, New York Times best-selling author and record-setting Make-A-Wish granter. He’s released a hit album, starred in blockbuster movies and carried the torch for WWE since he first set foot in a WWE ring nearly two decades ago. If you really can’t see John Cena at this point, chances are you simply aren’t looking,” WWE’s official website says about their once-franchise player.
Cena has, for the last few years, seen as a bit-part player and solely an attraction for bigger matches at important events.
John Cena Has Not Been Seen In WWE Since Wrestlemania
Cena was last seen in a rivalry who challenged him to a match at Wrestlemania 36, presented as a a sequel to their WrestleMania XXX match in 2014, an offer which was taken by Big Match John. At the event, rather than a traditional wrestling match, the two squared off in a surreal trip through history as moments from Cena’s and Wyatt’s history were played out including his debut against Kurt Angle, a moment featuring the Doctor of Thuganomics and the pair’s match at WrestleMania XXX.
Wyatt ultimately ended up defeating his opponent, thus exacting revenge for his previous loss. Following Wyatt’s victory, Cena’s motionless body vanished from the middle of the ring.
