Joe Schilling, the former Bellator MMA fighter and Bellator Kickboxing star has been on the headlines for a spectacular knockout via punches, but this time, the stoppage has taken place outside the cage.
A recent video that has surfaced on social media, shows Schilling brutally knocking out a man at a bar with a savage one two combo, flooring the guy in a suit and tie, who was apparently seen hurling some words at the mixed martial artist before tasting his fist.
The short 20-second clip of the altercation that was recorded, has gone viral across multiple social media platforms.
Simply defending myself against the evil in this world: Joe Schilling claims the man he punched was a racist
With the popular hip hop song “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre featuring Snoop Dogg, Kurupt and Nate Dogg playing in the background, the clip starts off with a man dressed in a white shirt, black trousers and a tie enjoying with a woman.
From the back, Schilling is seen emerging, who is apparently seen on his way out of the place, when he is blocked on the path by the man. In response, when Schilling moved him out of the way, things got heated up.
The 37-year-old is seen turning around after the man said something to him, and knocked him down with at least four back to back punches.
The former Bellator star cleared up the cloud later, claiming that the man he punched was being racist towards an African-American bus boy who walked by him at first.
“This guy’s rapping like an idiot. The bus boy who happens to be black walks by and this idiot bumps into him and screams out, ‘Me and broke n****s we don’t get along'” said Schilling, “The bus boy was seriously offended but doesn’t want to lose his job.”
Schilling further addressed that the man he punched was trying to agitate him throughout the night, and after he went out for a smoke and came back, that’s when the beatdown had taken place.
“As the night goes on, this clown starts looking at me and rapping whatever song is being played while making eye contact with me. I’m like, ‘What’s wrong with this idiot.'”
Bantering that he was ‘scared for life’ after seeing the man in tie flexing at him, Schilling said he was just acting in self defense, “I turn around and he flexes on me,”Bad decisions are made everyday. As you can see from this video, when he flexed on me I was scared for my life,” Schilling said, “and simply defending myself against the evil in this world.” (H/T TMZ)
Schilling later revealed that the clip was flagged by Instagram as ‘harrassment’ or ‘bullying’, reiterating the self-defense angle and the racism angle.
He followed up with another post, with a couple screenshots from texts he received, which claimed that the man he beat up at the bar was apparently a physical abuser as well.
