The Ryder Cup, one of the biggest golf tournaments, was to take place last year but Covid forced the authorities to postpone the event by a year and now here it is, and Europe’s Ian Poulter is all ready to show to the US players what they are up against. This is 43rd Ryder Cup event and it is to commence from 24th September. He was missing from action in the 2016 Ryder Cup due to a foot injury but Ian is glad to be back.

His career high had been at the 2012 Ryder event in Medinah when he played alongside Rory McIlroy. Europe way way behind with 6-0 in the singles and then Ian shot five birdies and single-handedly revived the European fans.

In his debut in Oakland Hills in 2004, he stunned the crowd after scoring one point and led the country to 18½-9½ win.

He has also played against current captain of the US team Steve Stricker. The Englishman had handed the American a loss at the Valhalla event back in 2008.

After missing the 2016 Ryder Cup, the golfer was not gone too long from the field. He was back where he belonged in 2018 for a match in Paris. At the Paris event, he participated four events, out of which he lost two. He also defeated the then world number one Dustin Johnson in the Singles event at Europe and seized the trophy.
