MMA’s biggest global identity, Hasbulla Magomedov wants to extend his prowess into politics
Hailing from Makhachkala, the capital of the Russian republic of Dagestan, Hasbulla Magomedov became the most popular name in combat sports in 2021. The social media and TikTok star have become a widely popular figure in the mixed martial arts community courtesy of the buildup to his fight against Tajik rap artist Abdu Rozik.
Even though his fight against Rozik never became a reality, Hasbulla continued to stay a the peak of fame among MMA fans around the world for his online presence. A close friend of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Hasbulla even earned the nickname of ‘Mini Khabib’ for his impersonation of the undefeated legend.
However, mixed martial arts is not the only sphere where Hasbulla wants to keep his influence. Speaking to Caleb Pressley of Barstool Sports in his maiden interview, Hasbulla revealed his wish to enter politics, and similar to his haters in MMA, he wants to become a scourge of his ill-wisher in politics as well.
“I want to become Minister of Internal Affairs for [the Russian republic of] Dagestan… first I’ll find my haters and make them panic,” Hasbulla, in a fiery temper, told Pressley. Check out the entire interview below, courtesy of Barstool Sports’ official YouTube channel.
It is no doubt that Hasbulla, who has found plentiful strife from some of the biggest names in MMA, will have no lack of rivalry when it comes to politics. Aside from his adversity with Abdu, Hasbulla has been at the receiving end of grudges from some of the biggest names in MMA, such as Henry Cejudo, Rafael Fiziev, and even WWE superstar Hurricane.
Aside from his interest in politics, Hasbulla also made a stern criticism of Cristiano Ronaldo, stating that he is even bigger than soccer’s biggest superstar and also added that all Ronaldo does is “pass around the ball.”
Hasbulla also stated that he doesn’t pump the iron because he sees himself as the iron and that he always carries a knife with him, as well his gang which he considers better than a knife.
“When I carry the blade, people keep their mouth shut,” he added, “Now I have my brothers with me… better than a knife.”
