Former Manchester United legend Gary Neville thinks the club has failed during the “easiest” transfer window in recent history.
The European window closes on October 5 and Manchester United still want to complete deals for Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho and Porto full-back Alex Telles.
It’s appalling that in this market which is probably the easiest in PL history to get transfers done that United haven’t done more yet ! They must get Ole a CB , LB and Forward pre deadline! The others are managing to get things over the line why not United !

“It’s appalling that in this market which is probably the easiest in PL history to get transfers done that United haven’t done more yet!” he exclaimed on Twitter.
“They must get Ole [Gunner Solskjaer] a centre back, left-back and forward pre deadline! The others are managing to get things over the line why not United!”
Donny van de Beek remains Manchester United’s only signing so far and former Red Devils captain is furious at the lack of planning of transfers this window.
Neville also insisted that the club has had 12 months to formalise a transfer plan.
Neville then retweeted an article in which Sevilla sporting director Monchi slammed United for not having a director of football.

“I do understand there are very successful clubs – Manchester United are probably one of the top five in the world, but they do not have that specific position – but I think that clubs more and more are aware that they really need this position and also we are the connection between the technical staff, the squad, the board, we know the Âmarket, we get lots of information through the different scouts.”
“So, for me, I can’t believe a club does not have this particular position. Logically, I have to believe in it because that’s what I do. But I do think it’s essential”, Monchi said in an interview.
The transfer window opened on July 27 and top-six rivals like Chelsea signed 8 players for the new season.
Liverpool and Manchester City have strengthened while Tottenham Hotspur re-signed Gareth Bale on loan.
Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof remain United’s central defence duo and Neville thinks they are not a title-winning partnership.
United made Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho their No 1 target this summer but have so far been left frustrated in their agreement over a fee of the England international.
The club denied reports on Tuesday night that they had made a £91.2m offer for Sancho – £73m plus £18.2m in add-ons – which had been rejected by Dortmund after it appeared they had made a late attempt to get their priority deal done.
“They’ve needed these positions filling for 12 months, had a national lockdown to regroup and re-set and ample time to manoeuvre deals to a conclusion.”
