FTR ATTACKED THE JURASSIC EXPRESS BEFORE OTHER WRESTLERS MADE THE SAVE

Dax Harwood of the team took on Jungle Boy of The Jurassic Express last week at AEW Dynamite. In the end, Jungle Boy managed to lock on the Snare Trap submission hold on Harwood, who tapped out, ending a 15 minute long match. Post match, FTR and Tully Blanchard attacked the Jurassic Express, hitting Luchasaurus with a spike piledriver. They proceeded to cut horns off his mask and were on their way to cut some of Jungle Boy’s hair when the rest of the wrestlers came out to make the save.

AEW made the announcement that the tag team’s conduct after the Harwood vs Jungle Boy match has been enough to warrant a suspension. The suspension means that the tag team shall not battle it out alongside other top AEW teams at the Tag Team Battle Royale at Beach Break.

Harwood and Wheeler has been officially replaced by two members of The Dark Order, the two being John Silver and Alex Reynolds.

“Upon review of their conduct after the Jungle Boy v. Dax Harwood match, FTR are suspended from competition for 1 week, thus out of the #BeachBreak Tag Team Battle Royale. FTR are replaced by John Silver & Alex Reynolds on #AEWDynamite on @TNTDrama TOMORROW night at 8pm ET/7pm CT!,” AEW declared officially.

THE TEAM WAS CREATED BY DUSTY RHODES

The team was created by Dusty Rhodes in 2014, then as The Mechanics, and later simply Dash and Dawson when they made their television debut on WWE NXT. The team adopted the name The Revival in 2016, referencing “reviving” the classic tag team wrestling style of the 1980s, which has led to the two being compared favorably to The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard). Interestingly, it is Tully Blanchard who manages them in AEW.

The team uses the phrase “No flips, just fists” to convey their more traditional, mat based in-ring style in contrast to the more high flying style of some contemporary teams.

In WWE, they are recognized as the first team to have won all three of WWE’s main brand tag team championships—the Raw Tag Team Championship, SmackDown Tag Team Championship, and NXT Tag Team Championship, and are recognized by WWE as being the company’s first-ever Tag Team Triple Crown Champions.
