Queensberry Promotions owner Frank Warren has finally hinted at a possible return date for Daniel Dubois, indicating that the former British, Commonwealth, WBC Silver, and WBO International heavyweight champion will be seen back in action sometime between April and May this year.
Daniel Dubois (15–1, 14 KOs) failed to defend his titles against fellow Briton pugilist and Olympic silver medallist Joe Joyce (12–0, 11 KOs) who won all four of Dubois’s belts as well as the vacant European heavyweight title with a 10th round knockout at the Church House in London on 28th November last year.
“Dynamite” Dubois sustained gruesome damage in his left eye, which broke the eye socket as well as left him with nerve injuries. Not only that, the 23-year-old received heaps of criticism for his loss, with many of his calling him a quitter because he was unable to continue the fight.
However, experts stated that if he continued the fight after taking the blow in the eye his sparring days could have been over, and Dubois even received backing from Anthony Joshua.

Not going to rush him into anything: Frank Warren wants to be patient for Daniel Dubois’ comeback
Now after one and a half months, Dubois’s promoter and Queensberry owner Frank Warren has hinted at a possible return date for the boxer, stating that the injuries have healed properly and the team is aiming to get Dubois back into the squared circle by towards the end of April or in May.
“The doctor is happy with the way the fractures have healed,” Warren recently stated, “he has to go back to get his retina looked at again, but hopefully he will then be OK to go again then and get back into full training.”
“We want to get him back out in late April or maybe May. All of us are very disappointed with what happened, but he is young and we are not going to rush him into anything,” the 68-year-old added.
Dubois is not known for being vocal or having much activity on social media, for which Frank Warren sheds appreciation, and Warren narrated the recent interaction after meeting the briton a week before.
“He is not interested in social media, which is very good. He just wants to get on and fight,” Warren went on, “I met with him last week. He is not a braggard or a loudmouth and was quite philosophical. When he was caught, he said the pain was searing right through his head.”
