The exciting Kylian Mbappe secured his second and third goal of the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup as France clinched a 2-1 victory over Denmark in their Group D contest on Saturday at Stadium 974 in Doha.
At the break, both sides were unable to break into each other’s nets, but it was just past the one hour mark in the second half when Mbappe surgically placed a shot through the Danish defense to put the Frenchman into the lead.
‘The Red and Whites’ weren’t falling behind, as it took them only seven minutes to get back into the game. From a set piece, it was Andreas Christensen who headed the equalizer past Hugo Lloris.
As the match progressed into its final minutes, Denmark kept their guard up but finally gave into the French pressing, as Mbappe struck the winning goal past Kasper Schmeichel at 86th minute.
With the win, France are now atop of Group D and have earned their ticket into the knockout round.
