Daryl Morey, who recently stepped down from his position as the General Manager for NBA side Houston Rockets for 14 years, has thanked the team’s supporters via a whole page ad on a newspaper, as well as sheds praise over Rockets icon James Harden for revolutionizing the game.
Rockets’ made an official announcement about the departure of Daryl Morey last Friday. The American sports executive, who was appointed as the GM of the team back in 2007, has decided to walk out to concentrate on his college-going sons.

On Sunday, Daryl Morey has published a full-page ad in a daily, showing his courtesy towards the Rockets fans and emphasised on the team’s revered Shooting guard James Harden.
“Dear Rockets fans, thank you for an amazing 14 years. Your love, support, and energy has meant the world to me,” Morey penned down in the ad.
Former Oklahoma City Thunder star James Harden joined Houston Rockets in 2009, two years after the arrival of Morey in the team. After 11 seasons of working together with the no. 13, the former GM sheds praise over Harden on how he transformed the sport.
“James Harden changed my life,” Morey went on, “An entire page could be dedicated to James. He not only transformed my life but he also revolutionized the game of basketball – and continues to do so – like almost no one has before.”
“The game is played differently because of James, and on every playground in the world, the next generation of talent is studying and imitating his game. I can’t believe I won’t be able to have another strategy session with James,” the former GM added, while also stating that he will root for the Rockets and James to clinch a championship title.
“Finally, I want to say thank you again to the city of Houston and to all Rockets fans. Your support has kept me energized and inspired. You have been the driving force to our success. I am honored to have been a part of your story,” concluded Morey.
