Bret Hart remembered the time when they shared the ring at the same time. ‘The Hitman’ called him a gorilla and criticised him for not having great in-ring abilities.

“[Goldberg] was a gorilla. [Goldberg] was a guy that nobody seemed to have taught how wrestling really works. He seemed to think he could just pick a guy up and just slam him through the mat as hard as you could and that was good wrestling. But I always liked Bill as a person. His wrestling, his workrate was 0/10.”

Bret Hart recalled when the fellow wrestlers would get hurt for real, after their matches against Goldberg. He would hurt everybody in the ring and was reckless as well as dangerous to work with.

Hart said, “He’d line up and just run you down, knock you down, and hurt guys. Everybody he worked with would come to the back holding their ribs. Guys would have tears in their eyes from how much pain they were in, and he was a really reckless and dangerous guy to wrestle.”

Bret Hart said that Goldberg ended his illustrious after a botched sidekick that actually hurt him. He said that the failed execution of the move indicated not possessing good skills that a wrestler should have. He claimed that Goldberg never checked on him after ending his career because of the failed move.

Hart recalled the spot saying, “He literally threw me into the ropes and tried to kick my head off my shoulders. Like, there was no working aspect to it.”

‘The Hitman’ said that though Goldberg apologised, it does not matter in wrestling and moreover, he was the reason that his career ended.

Hart reflected on the nature of the pro-wrestling business and said that the wrestlers have the responsibility to protect each other and not hurt for real.

Bret Hart concluded that if wrestlers worked recklessly like Goldberg then they would not last long and the show would not have enough personnel for the following week.
