All Elite Wrestling (AEW) ‘s Cody Rhodes spoke about famed basketballer Shaquille O’Neal, also known by the shortened moniker Shaq.
RHODES AND RED VELVET WILL FACE SHAQ AND JADE CARGILL THIS WEEK AT DYNAMITE
The comments from Rhodes come ahead of a match between the two. At this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Shaq and Jade Cargill are scheduled to face Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet in a mixed tag team encounter.
According to “The American Nightmare”, Shaq has a lot of muscles just for show. They make Shaq look fit and athletic, but he is not in tremendous shape to step into a pro wrestling match and does not have much left in his tank. Rhodes also believes that Shaq is not as nimble as he was during his Hall Of Fame NBA career.
“Judging from his Instagram as of late, he’s got a lot of show muscles. He’s in incredible shape from a vanity and aesthetic, but when it comes to go muscles, I don’t think Shaq has anything in the tank. And I don’t think he’s as nimble as he once was when he was world champion in his own field with the NBA,” He commented.
HE BELIEVES THAT SHAQ MAY RISE UP TO THE OCASSION AND PROVE HIM WRONG
However, he believes that Shaq has the ability to prove him wrong. As a Champion sportsman, he may rise up to the ocassion. Calling it a Johnny Cage vs Goro situation, he emphasizes that he must not let Shaq physically contact him and hit him with the Gorilla Monsoon-style bearhug. The same goes for Jade Cargill, who has a huge size advantage over Red Velvet. He then goes on to praise his tag team partner.
“That’s what we’ve got to avoid. The same goes for Jade – she’s got a size and strength advantage when it comes to little Red Velvet. Velvet is the meanest thing in our locker room. She really is. If you’re not familiar with her wrestling and her repertoire, she will impress a lot,” Rhodes said.
