With 40.4 seconds remaining in the game, the two-All Star stalwarts collided which lead to Brown being taken off the court. The guard was unable to put any pressure on his right leg as he gingerly limped off to the locker room. Tatum also followed suit by limping towards the locker room.

After the collision, Brown was down on the court in serious pain and ended his 35-minute stint for the night with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists.

Following the loss to their Western Conference counterparts, Celtics coach Brad Stevens was asked about the status of both the players, whose involvement will be crucial as the season heads into a tricky phase.

“Jaylen and Jayson, I don’t have any update on them, other than they were both in their rooms being looked at,” Stevens said.

To the relief of many, the 23-year-old Tatum made his way through the collision without any serious harm. The player, who notched a franchise-record 60-points in the overtime win against Spurs, assured that he is feeling okay and should be back soon.

“We just collided and he stepped on my foot and he fell on my leg, But I should be all right. See how I feel tomorrow, but should be OK.

“I was able to walk off the court by myself, so that should be a sign,” Tatum said while adding concern for his teammate who suffered the brunt of the collision.

Tatum top-scored for the Celtics with 33-points, but his display was overshadowed by the duo of CJ McCollum and Damian Lillard who notched a combined 59 points to mark TrailBlazers’ fourth win in succession.

The tight game, which was level at the half-way mark changed in the second half as the visitors managed to outscore their opponents by five points each in the remaining quarters.

The Celtics play their next two games on the road against Orlando Magic and Chicago Bulls on Thursday and Saturday respectively.
