Canelo Alvarez  (56-1-2, 38 KOs) vs Caleb Plant (21-0, 12 KOs), one of the most anticipated fights of this year which will crown the undisputed super-middleweight champion of the world, has been set for 6th November in Las Vegas.

The four belt title fight, which will see Canelo’s WBC, WBA (Super) and WBO titles pitted against Plant’s IBF belt, was originally scheduled for 18th September but the progression towards the fight had fallen apart in the last minute.

Plant’s fight purse demands became a throne on the progress of the negotiations towards confirming the bout. Back in June, the undefeated American revealed that he is hoping to secure somewhat north of $10 million from the fight.

After the fight had fallen through, Canelo, the number one pound for pound boxer in the world, was aiming to return to the light heavyweight division and challenge the WBA titlist Dmitry Bivol as his second option.

Canelo vs Plant to fight for undisputed title at 168 at the MGM Grand

Last week, Mike Coppinger of ESPN claimed that after the Bivol fight couldn’t be staged for September on the Mexican  Independence Day Weekend, Canelo turned his attention back on Plant and in talks with Premier Boxing Champions for a one-fight deal on Fox PPV.

Now, it is confirmed that the PPV unification fight will head for the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on 6th November and will be co-presented by PBC, joining hands with Canelo Promotions.

Coming off of two back to back dominating performances against Avni Yildirim and Billy Joe Saunders, Canelo is already the favourite to win the fight and to clinch his dream of achieving the undisputed status at 168.

Plant, on the other hand, is looking forward to the toughest challenge of his career, and also, a once in a lifetime opportunity to grasp the super-middleweight crown. The 28-year-old was last seen in action against Caleb Truax on 30th January at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles, marking his third IBF title defence.
