The former WWE star Braun Strowman was shockingly handed a release from the company and the decision was highly slammed by the fans. It was stated that he was released due to the ‘budget cuts’. The released stars usually have the 90-days non-compete clause that refrains them from competing in any other major promotions for the said duration.

Braun Strowman’s could be heading to AEW soon?

Braun Strowman had bashed WWE following his release from the company. He was one of the highest-paid stars in the company and was heavily featured in the main-event storylines. He started taking bookings for independent promotions.

It is needless to say that AEW often bags the stars who have been released by WWE. There are numerous examples of the same and Strowman is no exception as AEW President Tony Khan could certainly consider signing ‘The Monster Among Men’.

The former WWE Universal Champion had also expressed his frustrations as he is not able to compete in the squared circle for a long time. He recently updated his fans that the non-compete clause is just a couple of weeks away from expiring.

On August 16th, Strowman posted a Tweet suggesting that his non-compete clause could be over sooner rather than later.

Here is what he wrote on Twitter:

“14 Days!!!!! #IAmInevitable”

Braun Strowman could be the third major signing of AEW?

Tony Khan is believed to have already made a couple of massive signings with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Punk is slated to make his debut at AEW Rampage: The First Dance which is set to be held at the United Center in Chicago, while Bryan is also planned to debut soon.

AEW could come up with another third gigantic signing as they could bag the deal of Braun Strowman. On the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that sources close to the promotion have indicated that a third major signing could follow CM Punk and Daniel Bryan.

Meltzer did not namedrop the star and simply stated that “a new major AEW acquisition is coming on the heels of the deals for C.M. Punk and Bryan Danielson”.

Sources close to the promotion who will be alert to such things also noted: “We don’t really have any idea at the moment who this ‘new major AEW acquisition’ could be but we’ll have further updates if and when available.”

We will see if Braun Strowman joins AEW.
