Booker T, the former WWE star opened up on his Hall of Fame podcast about another former WWE star Christian(now known as Christian Cage) who had recently inked a deal with AEW. After his appearance, the world of pro wrestling were quite stunned. It has been a hot topic on social media as well due to his choice of signing with AEW and parting ways with WWE.
Booker T dislikes Christian opting for AEW over WWE
Christian debuted at recently concluded AEW’s pay-per-view, Revolution and had shocked the world. Many fans and pundits had their say over the veteran’s decision and now Booker T has shared his thoughts as well. It seems the Hall of Famer is not happy with the signing.
He recalled how being with Christian in the ring made the spots easy. He also revealed him to be his close friend and addressed him as the ‘most underrrated’ star in the business.
Booker T said: “Every time I was in a six-man or any type of match where it was more than one guy and myself and Christian was in the ring, I would never think about what to do. I would always go to Christian and say, ‘Christian, what am I doing tonight?’ He would say, ‘Ok, you’re going to do the spinaroonie right here. You’re going to do the scissor kick right here. You’re going to do that jumping side kick right here.’He made it so easy for me.”
Booker T revealed the reason behind his dislike of the deal. He said that Christian had been underutilized in WWE and a star having so much capabilities and skills inside the squared circle deserve the spotlight. But with time as he was refrained from it, his mind went away from business and ultimately cost WWE to relinquish such a great talent to AEW.
Booker added: “He is the most underrated, professional wrestler that this business has ever produced. I’m not just saying that because he’s my friend. He’s a guy that’s definitely been well underutilized as far as his talent and his skill and his mind goes for this business. He’s a guy that, me personally, I really hate that we lost. I must say that.”
Christian Cage had just made his debut at apparently already eyeing for the top prize, AEW World Championship, currently held by Kenny Omega.
