Bailey Matthews, who is the son of former WWE star and current NXT General Manager, William Regal has recently signed with WWE in the NXT UK brand as reported on its website.

In an article on WWE’s official website, Bailey Matthews was named in the official announcement of Meiko Satomura’s signing to NXT UK.

Metehan Kocabasoglu who is better known as wXw’s Lucky Kid, and Tony Gill, who was previously known as Gursdinder Singh in Impact Wrestling, have also been recruited to the company.

Kocabasoglu had previously squared off against Timothy Thatcher and and current NXT UK Champion Walter, while Gill was trained in Canada by former WWE star Lance Storm.

WWE did not particularly mention that Bailey Matthews is Regal’s son but listed the current NXT General Manager only as one of Bailey’s influences.

Matthews previously went by the name as Joe Bailey. He was training as a Young Lion with New Japan Pro Wrestling last year.

He was sighted at ringside during Wrestle Kingdom 14. Matthews is a wrestler since 2018 and has previously appeared for groups like EVOLVE and PROGRESS.

Both the promotions act as the development territory of WWE and have been associated with the company for several years now.

It is not know when Matthews, Kocabasoglu, and Gill could make their televised debut. The player-coach Satomura is already eyeing to get a shot at NXT UK Women’s Championship which is currently held by Kay Lee Ray.

Meiko had appeared in a video package and promo on yesterday’s show. In the message it was confirmed that she is on her verge to WWE’s British imprint.

Many fresh talents has signed with WWE recently and plethora of talents has joined the NXT UK brand. Two huge independent wrestling stars Rampage Brown and Aleah James, of which latter recently faced Aiofe Valkyrie on the show.

Another big name that has recently signed with WWE on the NXT UK brand was Sha Samuels, who made his television debut earlier this month who faced Joe Coffey.

Ben Carter has also become a part of NXT UK. The signing was also highly promoted by WWE, as the star is a graduate of Seth Rollins’ Black and Brave wrestling school.

It seems WWE is eyeing to make NXT UK their top brand of NXT outside of USA.
