The sixth matchday of Week 6 of the 2020-21 NBA season has concluded and its time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of the teams.
Pelicans 112 – 126 Rockets
Falling behind in the first quarter, Houston Rockets blew past New Orleans Pelicans into a 48 point Q2 and held onto their lead until the end to sweep up their 5th straight win at the Smoothie King Center.
Christian Wood scored 27 with 9 rebounds while 20 points and 7 assists came from Victor Oladipo.
Bulls 122 – 123 Trail Blazers
Portland Trail Blazers were able to edge out Chicago Bulls at the United Center thanks to a stupendous performance from Damian Lillard.
With eight 3-pointers, Lillard finished the night with 44 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists while Enes Kanter landed 11 rebounds for 22 points.
Heat 105 – 104 Kings
After five back to back losses, Miami Heat came back to winning ways with a close victory over Sacramento Kings at the AmericanAirlines Arena.
Returning after a 10 match hiatus, Jimmy Butler landed his season highest score of 30 along with 7 rebounds and 8 assists while Bam Adebayo clocked 13 rebounds.
Hornets 126 – 114 Bucks
After a heavy back and forth in the first half, Charlotte Hornets paced ahead of Milwaukee Bucks in Q4 to sweep up a win at the Spectrum Center.
Gordon Hayward scored 27 points, along with 15 rebounds from Cody Zeller as the scoreboard topping 34 points from Giannis went in vain for the visitors.
Celtics 95 – 96 Lakers
After two defeats, Los Angeles Lakers hungered for a victory into their clash with Boston Celtics and walked away with a smile at TD Garden.
Anthony Davis landed one of his best performances of this season, scoring 27 points with 14 rebounds in addition to 21 points from LeBron James.
Spurs 112 – 129 Grizzlies
Returning to action after 12 days, Memphis Grizzlies had a smooth sail to victory over San Antonio Spurs at the AT&T Center.
De’Anthony Melton landed 20 points while Ja Morant contributed 19 with 11 assists as the team clocked a total of 17 three-pointers against the hosts.
Mavericks 105 – 111 Suns
Phoenix Suns broke away in the final quarter to hand Dallas Mavericks their fifth consecutive defeat right in their backyard at the American Airlines Center.
With a season-best four steals, Chris Paul secured 29 points with 12 assists, while Deandre Ayton landed 17 rebounds for 18 points.
Warriors 118 – 91 Pistons
A dominating first half from Golden State Warriors was a task impossible for Detroit Pistons to catch up as the hosts secured a win at the Chase Center.
With five rebounds and seven assists, Steph Curry landed 28 points, along with early firing from Kelly Oubre Jr and Andrew Wiggins who scored 18 and 20 points respectively.
