James Harden still vouching for a move away from Rockets despite John Wall’s inclusion

James Harden’s future with the Houston Rockets lies in the balance as the player is still vying a move out of the franchise. While he is expected to practice with the team, it does not imply a change of heart with the main focus being a trade move.

The Rockets granted the wish of Russell Westbrook by trading him for Washington Wizards’ John Wall. Harden reportedly does not hold anything personal against the five-time NBA all-star point guard but instead does not see a future with the franchise where he is yet to win the elusive NBA title.

It was previously reported that the 31-year-old would prefer John Wall over Russell Westbrook as a teammate, but it does not change the overall motive of Harden, which is to switch franchises.

“He had a preference of John Wall over Russell Westbrook,” “Although, the last couple of years, Harden has moved teammates in and out. He brought Chris Paul in and moved him out — same with Russell Westbrook now. Whether (trading Westbrook is) going to be enough to convince him to stay or want to be there long term, the Rockets aren’t sure about that.” Wojnarowski said of Harden.

The latest trade product had claimed that he and Harden “can be a heck of a combination,”. Wall had also attested that Harden is here to stay following an encouraging talk with the player. However, Wall has gone to retract those comments.

“Whatever he’s going through, he’ll get through it and make the decision that’s best for him, and I think the front office will do the same,”

John Wall had an encouraging debut during Rockets’ emphatic 125-104 win over Chicago Bulls. He registered 13 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds in 19 minutes on the court.

As of now, the former MVP’s preferred destination would be Brooklyn Nets where he aims to reunite with Kevin Durant. Apart from the Nets, Harden also has cast his eyes on Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat as a possible next stop.
