2020–21 NBA Week 5 results: scores, standings, match summary and highlights

Week 5 of the 2020-21 NBA season has concluded and its time to take a look back at the scores and highlights of the matches and standings of all teams.

Monday, 18th January

The Cavaliers vs Wizards game was postponed.

Knicks defeated Magic 91-84. Julius Randle scored 21 points with 17 rebounds and one assist.

Hawks clinched a 108-97 victory over Timberwolves. Trae Young landed 13 assists along with scoring 20 points, countering D’Angelo Russell’s 31.

Despite Damian Lillard’s score of 35, Trail Blazers were handed a 125-104 defeat by Spurs, with DeMar DeRozan scoring 20.

Grizzlies upset Suns 108-104, with 17 points from Ja Morant.

James Harden and Giannis both tied at 34 points, but it was Nets who narrowly escaped Bucks with a 125-123 win.

Raptors thrashed Mavericks 116-93. Kyle Lowry secured 23 points.

Bam Adebayo scored 28 points with 5 assists as Heat outflanked Pistons 113-107.

Bulls defeated Rockets 125-120 with Zach LaVine scoring 33.

Steph Curry landed 26 points as Warriors edged out Lakers 115-113.

Tuesday, 19th January

Nuggets clinched their 7th win this season by defeating Thunder 119-101. Nikola Jokic scored 27 points.

Jazz paddled to a 118-102 victory over Pelicans with 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists from Donovan Mitchell.

Wednesday, 20th January

The Wizards vs Hornets and Grizzlies vs Trail Blazers fixtures were called off.

Collin Sexton landed a remarkable 42 points in Cavaliers‘ 147-135 win against Nets.

Mavericks defeated Pacers 124-112. Kristaps Porzingis scored 27.

Joel Embiid led 76ers to a 117-109 win over Celtics with 42 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists.

Pistons suffered their 11th loss this season as Hawks thrashed them 123-115. Clint Capela scored 27 points with 26 rebounds.

Heat upset Raptors 111-102 with Kendrick Nunn scoring 28.

Magic earned a close 97-96 win over Timberwolves. Nikola Vucevic scored 28.

Suns went back to winning ways, this time defeating Rockets 109-103. Deandre Ayton scored 26.

26 points came from Steph Curry as Warriors outperformed Spurs 121-99.

Clippers won against Kings 115-96. Kawhi Leonard landed 32 points with 3 rebounds and 5 assists.

Thursday, 21st January

LeBron James landed 34 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists as Lakers trounced Bucks 113-106.

Jazz earned their 11th win this season, defeating Pelicans 129-118. Donovan Mitchell secured 36 points.

Julius Randle landed 16 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists as Knicks got the better of Warriors, clinching a 119-104 victory, despite Steph Curry scoring 30.

Friday, 22nd January

Wizards had their sixth game postponed, this time their Bucks clash. The second Grizzlies-Trail Blazers fixture was called off as well.

Bulls trounced Hornets 123-110, with 25 points from Zach LaVine.

Rockets finally bounced back with a close 103-102 win over Pistons. DeMarcus Cousins clocked 15 rebounds.

Pacers defeated Magic 120-118. Domantas Sabonis scored 18 points with 11 rebounds and 9 assists.

Despite Kyrie Irving’s effort of 38 points, Nets succumbed to a 125-113 loss against Cavaliers.

76ers outflanked Celtics 122-110 with 38 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists from Joel Embiid.

Heats were handed a 101-81 upset by Raptors with Pascal Siakam landing 15 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists.

Trae Young mesmerised with 43 points as Hawks thrashed Timberwolves 116-98.

Mavericks paddled to a 122-117 victory over Sours with Luka Doncic scoring 36 points.

Nuggets brushed off Suns 130-126. Nikola Jokic and Devin Booker both topped the scoreboard with 31 points each.

Paul George contributed 29 points in Clippers‘ 120-106 win over Thunder.

Kings beat Knicks 103-94. Harrison Barnes scored 26.

Saturday, 23rd January

Pistons suffer their 13th loss as Joel Embiid pulls 76ers to a 114-110 win with 33 points.

Despite a score of 41 from Bam Adebayo, Heats succumbed to a 128-124 defeat against Nets. Kyrie Irving scored 28.

Timberwolves defeated Pelicans 120-110 with Jarred Vanderbilt scoring 16 points with 11 rebounds.

With 23 points, Donovan Mitchell pushed Jazz to their 12th win as they crushed Warriors 127-108.

Anthony Davis clocked 37 points as Lakers beat Bulls 101-90.

Rockets trounced Mavericks 133-108 with DeMarcus Cousins scoring 28 points.

Nuggets moved past Suns 120-112 with Nikola Jokic landing 29 points, 22 rebounds and 6 assists.

Sunday, 24th January

kings vs Grizzlies clash was met with postponement.

OG Anunoby scored 30 as Raptors trounced Pacers 107-102.

Clippers clinched a 108-100 victory against Thunder with Kawhi Leonard scoring 34.

Celtics dominated Cavaliers 141-103. Jaylen Brown landed 33 points.

Gordon Hayward secured 39 points as Hornets edged out Magic 107-104.

Wizards’ return to action was upsetting as Spurs outplayed them 121-101 with Dejounte Murray scoring 11 points and rebounds each plus 10 assists.

Giannis paddled Bucks to a 129-115 win over Hawks, contributing 27 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists.

Damian Lillard scored 39 points as Trail Blazers defeated Knicks 116-113.
