The death of Kobe Bryant was a harrowing incident for the sports fandom across the globe. For Vanessa Bryant, losing her husband and daughter Gigi was something else.
Amid the distress, the global sports fraternity took several different approaches to tribute the former Lakers legend following his sad demise, approaches that the widowed Vanessa would find some solace in.
Vanessa calls Meek Mill’s Kobe reference “extremely insensitive and disrespectful”
Unfortunately, as all those glitters are not gold, American rapper Meek Mill’s reference to Mamba in his latest leaked song “Don’t Worry (RIP Kobe)” has caught the attention of the internet for tributing the basketball icon in not a very accepting way.
“This b*tch I’m f**king always telling me that she love but she ain’t ever showed me,” Mill’s verse goes in the song, “Yeah, and if I ever lack, I’m going out with my chopper, it be another Kobe.”
The helicopter crash that took the life of Kobe and Gigi has been traumatic for many and it leaves no imagination that how Vanessa herself was impacted by it.

After seeing the leaked lyrics, she took it to her Instagram to lash out at the artist, calling out the reference which was in bad taste.
“Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period. I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this,” Vanessa wrote on her Instagram story.
“If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact,” she added.
