As the celebrations unfolded, Michael Jordan stood cradling Tyler Reddick’s four-year-old son, Beau, a poignant moment that marked a significant shift from previous wins. Unlike before when Beau was too young to grasp the magnitude of the occasion, this time, he was wide awake and fully aware of the significance of being in Jordan’s arms.
According to Reddick, Beau recognizes Michael Jordan, whether as the legendary basketball icon or simply the guy with the famous shoes. It’s become a special connection between them; whenever Reddick or Beau wears a pair of Jordans, it’s a nod to the man himself.

Bob Pockrass captured a video of Tyler Reddick recounting the moment when Michael Jordan lifted his son Beau. The experience must have been surreal for Tyler, considering he’s notably shorter than the towering Jordan. He said, “I hope he had fun seeing what the world was like from up there.”
Tyler Reddick’s Son Beau Knows Michael Jordan as “The Shoe Guy”
When Tyler Reddick clinched victory at Talladega in his No. 45 23XI Toyota Camry, it was a historic moment for his NASCAR team. But what made it even more special was the appearance of basketball legend Michael Jordan.
In the aftermath of the wild finish, Reddick was caught off guard when he saw Jordan in Victory Lane. The GOAT himself was there to witness his NASCAR team win a race for the first time in the season. And in his arms? Reddick’s four-year-old son, Beau.
After the win at Talladega, Bob Pockrass posed a question to Tyler Reddick, asking whether his son recognized Michael Jordan more as a basketball legend or simply as the guy with the shoes. Tyler chuckled upon hearing the question before responding.
“I feel like probably with as young as he is, more as the guy with the shoes for sure,” Reddick mused. “But that’s some homework I can do. Play some old-school games for him so he can get a real good feel of how dominant [Jordan] was in his prime.”
