There has been debate over the competition of AEW Rampage and SmackDown and it seems it will finally take place. Tony Khan noted the next week’s head-to-head of AEW Rampage and WWE SmackDown as SmackDown will be a two-and-half-hour show, starting at 8 PM and the episode will end at 10:30. It will have to go head-to-head with AEW Rampage for 30 minutes as the TNT show starts at 10 PM.

Khan tweeted that he can’t wait to see Rampage beat WWE’s main show SmackDown in the ratings next week. Tony Khan also said that the head-to-head clash has been on the cards for a long time and he can’t wait to see the competition next Friday night.

“I saw you’re doing a half hour head-to-head with us. I can’t wait to finally beat your main show head-to-head. It’s been a long time coming. See you next Friday for #AEWRampageon @AEWonTNT!” tweeted Tony Khan.

It has been announced by WWE that next week’s SmackDown will airs on FS1 instead of FOX. Whenever SmackDown has aired on FS1 it has garnered less ratings than FOX. So it will be a major drawback for the show.

The next week’s edition of SmackDown is stacked with huge matches and will include the appearance of Brock Lesnar. SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will be featured in the headline as she will take on Sasha Banks. While, Sonya Deville will make her return to in-ring action, battling with Naomi.

AEW Rampage will see CM Punk locking horns with former WWE star Matt Sydal. In addition, Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara and Jake Hager will take on Junior dos Santos and Men of the Year in a six-man tag team action. Ruby Soho will also compete in singles action against The Bunny.

We will have to see what is the outcome of the viewership battle between AEW Rampage and WWE SmackDown.
