While Friesen and Hill were both vying for a spot in the top-15. Friesen consistently ran in the top-10 throughout the night, finishing just one position ahead of Hill. However, the reason behind Friesen’s frustration was the repeated incidents where other drivers caused him to wreck. Although NASCAR addressed one such incident involving Kaden Honeycutt and his crew chief, Friesen’s decision to dump Hill post-race was strictly between the two of them.

Hill, visibly furious, confronted Friesen on pit road, expressing his disappointment: “You know better than these fing kids. … You get wasted by everyone else, except for fing me. I don’t waste you; these fing kids do. You know better than that. Now you find toast my truck. You’re supposed to be better than that, not these f***ing kids, you’re supposed to be better”.
