Thiago Alcantara’s transfer move is a ‘huge loss’
Thiago Alcantara, the 29 year old midfielder despite of having a year left on his contract, could be heading towards the Anfield amid the transfer talks.
Liverpool are currently the favourites to sign the Spaniard. Bayern Munich had previously kept the price tag of £36m for the midfielder. However, they seemed to have reduced it to £27m. They have decided it is better to reduce the price and not to lose Thiago Alcantara next season for nothing.

Though Liverpool don’t have the cash reserves at the moment, they are likely to negotiate with Bayern Munich in the coming weeks.
Thiago Alcantara, former Barcelona player had displayed a wonderful performance against PSG in the Champions League. He played an essential role in Bayern’s victory and lifting the trophy on Sunday night. It was Bayern Munich’s sixth Champions League title and they were able to get their hands on the trophy for the first time since 2012/13.
Thiago Alcantara signed a four year contract and joined Bayern Munich in 2013. The Spain International has 31 goals to his name and has made 235 appearances for the club.
He was in the squad when Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga titles seven times, DFB-POKAL four times and also this year’s UEFA Champions League.
Ottmar Hitzfeld, former Bayern Munich who previously had couple of managerial spells at the Allianz Arena. He believes that losing Thiago Alcantara would be a ‘huge loss’ for the club.
Hitzfeld told,“That is, of course, a loss for Bayern.”
The 71 year old continued, “After not always being able to call upon his [full repertoire of] skills at the beginning of the season, he has developed and improved a lot, like the entire team.”
Thiago Alcantara would be an important addition to Jurgen Klopp’s side as the manager eyeing to wrap up the deal immediately.The Spaniard who is known for his deep-seated playmaking, could provide a lot to the club and he has already showed his capabilities against the French giants, PSG.
