You can check out the Tweet below:

The match took place at Madison Square Garden and it was special for Hulk Hogan as he had tallied his first WWE Championship win. The match saw a storyline replacement as The Hulkster was named a last minute replacement for the Sheik’s original opponent Bob Backlund.

The match also saw an iconic moment in the history of WWE as Hogan became the first person to escape Sheik’s destructive submission hold, the camel clutch. The fans saw the inception of legendary ‘Hulkamania’ as color commentator at the event, Gorilla Monsoon said the famous words: “Hulkamania is here!”

Rumors state that during that match, a bounty was placed for Iron Sheik to break Hogan’s leg so that he could not wrestle again. However, the it stands as a rumor upto this day, while many have disproved it as well. The match was one of the greatest matches and undoubtedly The Great One had a good pick.

The Rock has been away from WWE for quite some time. Last time he was seen in a segment on SmackDown’s 20th anniversary show back in 2019, when he was joined by the then- WWE Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. They had laid an attack on Baron Corbin.
